Sencai vs. HPE Morpheus
HPE Morpheus is a mature multi-cloud management platform with broad hypervisor and enterprise-integration support. Sencai is a newer control plane, built and operated in the EU, for teams that want to connect a cloud account and start the same day. This page covers signup, pricing, who operates the platform, and where Morpheus is further along.
Two different front doors
Sencai has a free organisation plan: one user, five managed resources, no card, no time limit. A new user also gets the Plus plan free for 14 days. Morpheus is typically sold through a sales-led process: a call, a scoped pilot, a negotiated contract. Large enterprises often want exactly that. If you are an SMB, a mid-market IT team, or an MSP managing client infrastructure, self-serve gives you an answer today. With complex on-premise virtualization and formal procurement, Morpheus is built around that.
Pricing you can read first
Sencai publishes pricing as a calculator on /pricing/, computed by the same formula for every visitor: 100 managed resources at standard automation is EUR 299 a month, plus EUR 44.50 for five people on Plus. Platforms in Morpheus's category are typically priced through custom quotes negotiated against your footprint, support tier, and contract length. That is standard for the segment, but you will not know the number until after the conversation.
Built and run in the EU
Sencai is operated by Sencai Tech s.r.o. in Prague, Czech Republic, under EU law. For teams whose data-residency policy or NIS2 obligations call for an EU-based operator, not just an EU data-centre region, that is a fact about the company rather than a setting. HPE, Morpheus's parent, is US-headquartered. That does not make Morpheus unusable for EU workloads, but for some procurement teams it is the deciding point; confirm it with each vendor. See /for/government/.
One control plane, your choice of account model
Both platforms manage infrastructure across several providers from one place. Sencai connects to 11 providers plus any cloud or bare-metal Linux server through a lightweight fleet agent, with a separate agent for Kubernetes. Connecting starts with discovery, not migration: you opt resources into management gradually. You can bring your own accounts, keeping contract and billing with the provider, or let Sencai provision and bill capacity; both coexist in one organisation. Morpheus covers similar ground with a longer history, including deeper on-premise virtualization support. See /platform/inventory-and-provisioning/.
Live at the provider, honestly scoped
When Sencai manages DNS records, firewall rules, or virtual networks, changes happen synchronously at the provider rather than in a cache that can drift. Today that covers DNS records on eleven providers, firewall rules on six, and virtual networks on five, expanding provider by provider. The fleet agent adds monitoring, patching, software inventory, and approval-gated runbooks, and every action lands in an append-only, hash-chained audit log. Morpheus, as a more mature product, likely reaches further on some of these. Where Sencai's coverage stops today, it stops.
Where Morpheus goes deeper, and how Sencai proves trust
Morpheus has more years in the enterprise market. If you need long-established on-premise hypervisor support, many third-party integrations, or a long enterprise-support track record, weigh that maturity. Sencai does not hold ISO 27001 or SOC 2 and says so. It provides an exportable audit trail, a sub-processor register, a data-residency statement, and a Data Processing Agreement you can read before signing, plus SSO, SCIM, and role-based access control. If a certification is a hard gate, Morpheus may be the safer start. See /for/regulated-industries/.
